Just been offered the chance of 2 years in Lebanon. That is, a chance to bid for a project to involve living in Lebanon for 2 years.
Anyone any ideas about life in Lebanon at the moment?
I read the usual foreign office guff which implies Beirut is OK but to beware of kidnappers and terrorists. Google can't find any recent kidnappers in Lebanon. Terrorists are more of a problem in London than in most of the places I have worked recently, even Kosovo. In fact if I had taken a lot of notice about Kosovo I never would have gone.
What is strange is I have not been able to find any blogs about life in Lebanon, at least in English. I suppose they could be in French if not in Arabic.
Shall I change region, brush up my French and have a new life? Shall I get all geared up and excited, only to be disappointed if we don't win?
Oh for some stability!
