Very good trip via Ljubljana on Adria airways. Luggage no problem and there was decent food. shall definitely do it again.
Decided that I would have a birthday party here early as lots of old friends (at least that;s how they seem even if I have only recently met some) are here this week. Also there is the Bajram holiday on Thursday to mark the end of Ramadan so everyone has the day off, with the usual pre and post absences. Not a lot can be done this week.
I planned the menu before I came so brought some of the food with me and foraged for the rest. Bee scanned the recipe which I forgot to bring and so we had Javanese chicken with avocado without the avocado. This is a dish I often make for parties since it is very forgiving of missing ingredients, and I have made it in Ukraine and Lithuania so seems to suit all pallettes.
Just beginning to panic about the state of my laptop battery but lights have come on again (only 45 minute cut this time).
So 7 of us round the table drank rather a lot and a good time was had by all. We were one Canadian, one Italian, one Bosnian, three Brits and one Irish. One Greek had to go home early so couldn't come.
Still managing on the leftovers, as the four in house are reduced to two.
Now we are planning our Christmas party when we shall have more old friends and Sloph is planning a trip too.
Off to Ljubljana for the weekend for another birthday celebration then home for a week on Sunday.
